COVID-19 Update

June 6, 2020

As of Wednesday, June 3 at 3:30 pm HST Governor Ige allowed the Department of Natural Resources Division of Boating (DOBOR) to release all commercial permits for tour operations in Hawaiian state waters.  Due to the current guidelines for operations, we are limited to 8 guests at a time (or up to 16 if the booking party are all from the same household). At this time the responsibility lies upon the individual company as to when they will resume business. We have had no new cases of COVID-19 within the past 10 days on the Big Island. It is our due diligence on this matter to protect our employees and the general public from a possible spike in cases due to our economy being open. It is of utmost importance that we at Captain Zodiac continue to recognize the overall health and safety of our community before business can resume. We are currently looking at opening August 1st, however, this is subject to change due to the progressing state & federal guidelines. This has not been an easy decision by any means, but we believe it is our responsibility to put the safety of our community & employees first. Please feel free to reach out to us directly so we can further assist in your planning needs. We will be adhering to CDC guidelines and social distancing measures when we resume operations. This will present challenges, but we feel that our partners and guests will support us and value our professionalism in the tour industry.  We can’t wait to safely re-open and look forward to serving our guests and community for many more years.

Stay safe and please take care of one another!

Sincerely,

Captain Zodiac
